The park is great for running, biking, children, soccer, fishing, walking, barbecuing, picnics, flying kites, walking dogs, seeing wild life such as cranes, turtles, birds, hawks, geese, ducks, and fish. In addition the park is equipped with an amphitheater for live outdoor music (usually on Sunday). Duke Island Park is only a 5 minute drive from Somerville, NJ.
